She’s a star that we don’t introduce anymore. A great international singer and actress, she became known for her incredible voice, but also her atypical, yet assertive personality. The performer of Woman in Love (1980) is famous for some of her positions towards the general public, one of which concerns cannabis. Not only is she in favor of cannabis use, but she is an assumed ambassador for its overall benefits.
Streisand, a great cannabis lover
An accomplished actress and singer of the 1980s, Barbra lived through times when smoking marijuana, cannabis, and other substances were not only allowed, widespread but, also encouraged. Today, the image of cannabis suffers a little more, but that does not stop the 78-year-old star from asserting her (regular) use of cannabis, even today.
Be careful, however, not to confuse several things. There is a difference between so-called recreational cannabis and therapeutic cannabis. In the first case, it is often the case that the cannabis plants are rolled up and smoked, which has a psychoactive effect. Therapeutic cannabis is the use of other components, such as CBD, for aesthetic or curative purposes, which does not have a psychoactive dimension.
In the case of Barbra, she used cannabis in all its forms.
Why CBD after 70 years?
Nicknamed “Babs” the singer has always been obsessed with staying young and looking young. In a career spanning fifty years, few wrinkles, skin that’s still firm, and a doe’s look. The secret? Surgery, of course, but also beauty reflexes that she does not hesitate to share.
Already, she consumes very little, if any, alcohol: the effects can be devastating, as has been the case for some of her contemporaries or former stage colleagues. Of course, the woman who became known for her incredible nose still has secrets, such as using skincare creams to maintain and moisturize her skin. But that’s it!
So what makes the difference? Maybe the fact that she is using more and more products based on CBD, the non-psychoactive component of cannabis. CBD is found in creams, oils and is the prerogative of many celebrities for its soothing, relaxing, and effectiveness against skin disorders.
A star among others
Thus, Streisand is not alone in extolling the merits of cannabis, but also of CBD. For his generation, one could cite Morgan Freeman, now the ambassador for therapeutic cannabis in the United States because of his disabling disease, as well as Whoopi Goldberg, who saw her back problems and stress alleviated after starting CBD.
This craze has led beauty brands, such as L’Oréal or Kiehl’s, to develop ranges based on hemp or cannabis. Therapeutic indeed! Barbra Streisand is once again, in the trend!
