Low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC) is a rare subtype of epithelial serous ovarian cancer. The majority of women are diagnosed with advanced disease, despite its slow growth. CBD shows potential for treating ovarian cancer.
The case report
for instance,we present a woman with LGSOC who refused primary systemic chemotherapy followed by surgical resection at intervals and opted for CAM therapy with Laetrile oil (amygdalin) and cannabidiol (CBD).
As a result,an 81-year-old woman with metastatic ovarian cancer responded well to treatment .with high doses of Laetrile tablets and low doses of cannabidiol.
The author’s quote:
“Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound naturally derived from the cannabis plant. The anticancer effects of CBD have been evaluated mainly in the laboratory. Interestingly, ovarian cancer cell lines express GPR55, a target indirectly inhibited by CBD and involved in the proliferation of prostate and ovarian cancer cells (Piñeiro et al., 2011). Studies on mouse models have also shown that cannabinoids inhibit tumor cell growth and induce apoptosis in gliomas, lymphomas, cancer cells of the prostate, breast, lung, skin, and pancreas (Sarfaraz et al., 2008). Despite this theoretical advantage, it is not clear that it has more or less activity than conventional treatments in cancer patients.”
Firstly, she was under the care of a team of specialized physicians at the University of California at San Diego, Moores Cancer Center. She started treatment in May 2017. In addition she continued to show improvements in December 2018.

That is to say,it is clinically asymptomatic and has a performance status of 0, which is constant from its performance status at the time of diagnosis.
The strong points raised by scientists
- The free use of alternative medicines is common among women with gynecological cancers.
- Cannabinoid receptors are potential therapeutic targets in ovarian cancer.
- Communication with patients is essential for the use of alternative therapies.
In conclusion, ovarian cancer must be taken seriously and early detection is essential for survival.
So,make sure you see your doctor early if you have any symptoms. And don’t forget that surveys are simple and painless.
