The subject of the influence of CBD on cancer comes up regularly in medical discussions, and already offers many studies on the subject available. Especially,a new study recently published on the subject: CBD can be effective in several types of breast cancer.
Published in mid-June on the very serious magazine Breast, this study was carried out by a team of scientists from the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Science of Alexandria University in Egypt.
Also, studies have shown an antineoplastic effect of the non-psychoactive Phytocannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD). However, the molecular mechanism underlying its antitumor activity is not fully understood. In order to be able to contribute to this research, the scientific team has set up a study on the action of CBD on cancer cells.
Consequently, after analyzing the results, the scientists conclude that CBD, depending on its dose and administration, inhibited tumor survival and caused apoptosis, i. e. cell death.
“In both cell lines, CBD inhibited cell survival and induced apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner”
Recognized as non-psychotropic, CBD reduces the side effects of many treatments such as chemotherapy, but also provides a solution for the implementation of protocols with very few side effects, and therefore more easily bearable by patients.
“The results suggest that CBD treatment induces an interaction between PPARγ, mTOR and cyclin D1 for the induction of apoptosis in ER-positive and tri-negative breast cancer cells, proposing CBD as a useful treatment for different subtypes of breast cancer. »
