A healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet go hand in hand, supplemented if necessary, by dietary supplements such as CBD. Another key factor in a healthy life is a lot of exercises. It appears that the benefits of using CBD allows us to increase the intensity of our exercise routines. In this article, we are happy to explain how it works.

What causes muscle pain?

Many people experience muscle pain, or myalgia, after exercise. If the pain is severe, it may indicate an injury. In this case, it is wise to take time to recover, and CBD can help relieve pain during recovery. If, on the other hand, the level of stress on your muscles is appropriate, especially when combined with a healthy diet, muscle pain usually means that your body is generating additional muscle tissue. During exercise, small lesions and inflammations can appear in the muscle tissue. To repair this minor damage, the body produces new muscle tissue in the affected parts of the muscles, making them stronger in the process. This does not mean, however, that muscle pain is necessary for muscle development. Also, not everyone has the same level of sensitivity, so not everyone experiences the same level of pain after similar exercise routines.

CBD can relieve pain

As we have indicated elsewhere on this site, multiple studies have demonstrated the ability of CBD to relieve pain .

In addition to pain relief, CBD is also likely to speed up the process of restoring your muscles. This is because CBD activates the body’s receptors involved in anti-inflammatory action. These are called “vanilloid receptors”. Studies in rats have shown that the use of CBD to activate these receptors has anti-inflammatory effects. Since some of our muscle pain is caused by minor inflammation and we have the same physiological system that governs the recovery of muscle pain as rats, CBD likely helps our muscles to recover after exercise.

The endocannabinoid system provides the reward

It is not so strange for CBD to have all these properties. It turns out that the endocannabinoid system of our own body is partly responsible for the enriching experience we get after exercise. The pleasant feeling that one feels after intense physical effort, also known as “athlete high”, is due to this system

Be healthy, exercise and be aware

The starting point for any healthy lifestyle is awareness. Consciously choosing a healthy diet, not too much stress in your daily life if possible, and exercising a lot are essential. Although CBD can provide a certain level of support here, you should stay focused on your healthy habits. Although you may experience less intense muscle pain and your muscles can recover more quickly, you still need to make sure you don’t overwork. Gradually build your exercise program in the right way and seek expert advice if necessary. This will allow you to keep your sporting efforts fun and healthy at the same time – enjoy it!
