There are different dosages in CBD e-liquids, which allow you to have effects of varying intensities and which are each to be adapted according to your habits. It should be noted that determining a dosage of CBD is not comparable to choosing your nicotine dosage when quitting smoking tobacco. It is therefore important to adapt your dosage according to the affects you feel, the duration of your sessions and the equipment you use.
HOW CBD WORKS
Before discussing the different dosages of CBD available in e-liquids, it is important to understand how cannabidiol behaves when vaporized and what effects it has on the body.
CBD is a cannabinoid, which when consumed (by ingestion, inhalation…), acts on certain receptors located in the human body. Scientific research on this molecule has not yet determined all the receptors activated by CBD, but what has been highlighted is that certain receptors affected by CBD play a role in the regulation of anxiety states or inflammatory pain, for example.
Studies on CBD currently report anxiolytic, antipsychotic, analgesic effects… The main effects of CBD when vaporized can be a feeling of relaxation, a reduction in stress and a feeling of well-being. Unlike THC, which is also a cannabinoid, CBD is not considered a psychotropic drug; it does not have a direct impact on the nervous system and does not cause euphoric effects.
Some people, more sensitive than others to CBD, may feel drowsy, so it is important not to drive or engage in activities requiring increased alertness after spraying.
The effects of CBD and vaporization
Vaporizing e-liquids containing CBD causes effects that may vary from one individual to another, which is why it is difficult to determine a precise dosage without knowing one’s habits.
It is necessary to take into account your sensitivity to the molecule if you have never used CBD you are not heading towards the same dosage as a regular cannabinoid user. The most important thing is to take the time to discover CBD and its effects, listening to your body and trusting your feelings.
The e-liquids in the CBD naturally cause a strong “hit” when sucking the steam created by the electronic cigarette. Even an experienced vaporizer may be surprised by this sensation, especially if the dosage is very high.
You must also take into account how you will vaporize your e-liquid to the CBD. The CBD takes a little time to act, so it is necessary to vaporize several minutes at a time to see the first effects. If you want to spray CBD for a 15-minute session, once or twice a day, you can afford a higher dosage than if you want to spread your consumption over several hours.
The dosages can be categorized into four main groups:
- Low CBD dosages are generally less than 100 mg (or 10 mg/ml) and are suitable for all types of steam. With a low dosage, you will be able to vaporize on punctual sessions, as well as on longer sessions. Low dosages cause discrete effects.
- Intermediate CBD dosages are generally around 300 mg (or 30 mg/ml) and are more suitable for occasional use. A ten-minute session of steam is sufficient to notice the effects of this type of dosage.
- High CBD dosages are generally around 500 mg (or 50 mg/ml) and are to be used for one-off sessions only. The effects are very marked, it is, therefore, important to remain vigilant and to play the card of moderation.
- Very high CBD dosages above 600 mg should not be sprayed alone but diluted with a base. CBD boosters (often with dosages of 1000 mg) must be absolutely diluted and allow to create e-liquid in CBD in large quantities at a lower cost.
As you will have understood, the perfect dosage depends on your equipment, your sensitivity, your habits of vaporization and the effect you want to achieve. We advise beginners to start with low dosages, in order to be able to test the effects of CBD and to always vaporize in moderation.
