In order to evaluate the analgesic potential of Cannabis sativa L. So Scientists treated with Jala-Prakshalana (water wash) powder in cancer patients with poor quality of life through an open clinical trial.

Firstly ,Water-washed cannabis powder leaves filled into a capsule were administered to 24 suffering cancer patients with complaints of pain. Anxiety or depression. Besides , applied over 4 weeks, doses were 250 mg three times daily, with 50 ml of cow’s milk and 4 g of crystal sugar.

The primary endpoint, pain, measured by the Wong-Baker FACES Pain Scale (FACES), the Objective Pain Rating Scale (OPA) and the Neuropathic Pain Scale (NPS). While the second outcome, anxiety, was quantified by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), quality of life by the FACT-G scale, performance score by the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), and Karnofsky score.

Jalaprakshalana Shodhita Bhanga powder at a dose of 250 mg three times daily significantly relieves cancer-induced pain, anxiety, and depression and does not cause major adverse events or withdrawal symptoms during the trial period.
